Construction contractor "Erling Jensen" currently employs 35 of the people working at the Maabjerg BioEnergy site. We went to work with them.

In accordance with Danish traditions a topping out ceremony was held at Maabjerg Bioenergy when the last beam was placed on the main building.

The last piece of Maabjerg BioEnergy's 95 meter (311 feet) tall chimney was put in place on Tuesday. This is an important milestone for the construction.

The 95 meters (311 feet) tall chimney arrived today. The chimney was delivered in four modules.
Unfortunately, the first module got stuck in soft sand and blocked the access road into the construction site.
After a few hours delay, everything went smooth. Nothing was permanently damaged and noone was harmed.

If ants passed by Maabjerg BioEnergy even they would be amazed that anybody could be that busy.
People, craner, machinery and trucks are buzzing at the construction site. The most visible recent change is that the wall concrete blocks are being put up now, and you start to get a general idea about how big this facililty will become.

The weather has turned a bit warmer and the ground is once again soft and no longer causes problems for the construction. The shape of the main building is starting to show, and during the coming week we expect to receive the concrete blocks for the walls.

The six steel tanks are sofar the most visible evidence of the progress at the construction site. When finished each tank will be 25 meters tall and able to hold 7 million liters.
